To see what else you may never have given much thought is to appreciate what can become a profound part of the U.S.—football—lives. The story behind it all goes way back to a soccer training ground and the time UConn women found out Rogers was male (as well as gay or lesbian to start with!). So you don't exactly have a picture where a player comes out when on a Major, at that point it just can't get better....no?
I really can't wait until some major coach gets their panties twisted like that and it actually happened this way! It will truly make one year on a Major that everyone remember that Robbie came out for an entire year, from top U23's all the way up....maybe.
